Welcome
to Buck Lake Outfitters situated in the heart of Muskoka. We are
located 20 minutes outside of Huntsville in a rural setting of dense
forests, lakes {144} and wetlands with the world famous untouched
wilderness of Algonquin Park nearby.
Our Bear Management Zone covers an area of over
350 square miles sustaining a very large Black Bear population.
Since the cancellation of the Ontario Spring Bear Hunt in 1999,
our Black Bear have steadily increased. This has provided us with
a great success rate during our Fall Bear Hunt.It is not uncommon for our hunters to harvest Black Bear in the 350 lb plus range.
Our Fall Bear Hunt starts September 7th / 2010 and runs for 3 weeks.
We hunt with bows and rifles over baits from tree
stands. The baiting process starts well in advance of the Fall Hunt
so that the Bears will become accustomed to the bait stations. We bait and moniter these stands daily with digital trail cameras to determine the frequecy and time of hits, as well as size and number of Bear.
This ensures us that we can supply you with a guaranteed
active bait for a successful and enjoyable Bear Hunt.
